Edward Gorey - The Gashlycrumb Tinies

The Gashlycrumb Tinies is a new, small-format edition of Edward Gorey's 1963 dark masterpiece of surreal morality. Follow along a witty, disquieting journey as Gorey tells the tale tale of 26 children (each representing a letter of the alphabet) and their untimely deaths in rhyming dactylic couplets.

Edward Gorey (1925 - 2000) was an American writer and artist noted for his illustrated books. His consummate wit and eerie style have brought him worldwide acclaim. His signature pen-and-ink drawings often depict vaguely unsettling narrative scenes in Victorian and Edwardian settings and show the influence of his love for British literature. From ill-fated children with baleful faces and anthropomorphic creatures of untraceable biological lineage to shadowy, haunted adults, forever on the verge of mysterious errands, haunting imagery comes alive in Gorey’s world.
