Edward Gorey Card - I hadn't anything to do

"I hadn't anything to do,

And so I am sending this to you."

A lone figure stands camouflaged against a patterned background, while a cat lounges on an ottoman. Delight your friends and family with the quirky and fantastical art and humour of Edward Gorey by sending one of these curious notecards!

Edward Gorey (1925 - 2000) was an American writer and artist noted for his illustrated books. His consummate wit and eerie style have brought him worldwide acclaim. His signature pen-and-ink drawings often depict vaguely unsettling narrative scenes in Victorian and Edwardian settings and show the influence of his love for British literature. From ill-fated children with baleful faces and anthropomorphic creatures of untraceable biological lineage to shadowy, haunted adults, forever on the verge of mysterious errands, haunting imagery comes alive in Gorey’s world.
