Emily Martin - Pansy Print
$32.00
Emily Martin does amazing paintings and now you can take home one of her stunning works of art from Emily's Flower Girls series.
“These paintings hope to capture the elegance and liveliness of blooming things. They are inspired by my own garden and portraits from the 1930s and 1940s, as each variety of flower is "embodied" by a girl or lady, sitting for their portrait.”
She says about this portrait, “I have a soft spot in my heart for pansies and violas. Their petiteness, their ubiquity, their bright eyes... I imagine a girl named Pansy would be quite prim but with a little mischievous je ne sais quoi.”
Emily Winfield Martin, a.k.a. The Black Apple, creates amazing paintings, drawings and children's books. Working from a tiny studio filled with treasures in Portland, OR, her stunning works evoke dreams of fairy tales, music, myths, classic illustration, film, and the natural world. Her prints are reproduced on archival paper using an 11-ink fade-resistant process, lending a bold and rich spectrum of colour.
