Emily Martin - Shirley Poppy Print
Emily Martin (The Black Apple) does amazing paintings and now you can take home one of her stunning works from Emily's Flower Girls series. “These paintings hope to capture the elegance and liveliness of blooming things. They are inspired by my own garden and portraits from the 1930s and 1940s, as each variety of flower is "embodied" by a girl or lady, sitting for their portrait.”
She says about this portrait, “My very favourite poppy! Achingly lovely and fleeting (the blooms only live for a day or two) these wildflowers bloom on thin, wiry necks in all sorts of shades of red and pink.”
Emily Winfield Martin, a.k.a. The Black Apple, creates amazing paintings, drawings and children's books.
