Instructor:

Erin Hurst (she/her/they) is an artist and creative, who you may already know as a part of the enchanting Curiosa team, but whose artistic practise explores beyond the magical walls of our little shop. Her artistic prowess looks to the moodiness of nature, takes inspiration from lore and stories, and whose cultivated skills range from using fibre arts, building miniatures, growing botanical sculptures, and exercises a wealth of knowledge in antiquated photographic techniques and modern photography.

Erin graduated with a Bachelorette of Fine Art from Vancouver’s Emily Carr University of Art and Design, with a focus in Photography. Apart from their photographic practise, Erin builds and creates little worlds in her work, drawing inspiration from a multitude of crafting skills, tableau arts and subtly intwines mercurial themes into her image-based stories. Her work has been exhibited in Mexico City, California, and London, England, and most recently her work has been published in Broccoli Magazine’s book publication, Spores, and the second volume of Mushroom People Magazine.
